I am the first to admit that web 2.0 is an exciting direction for the internet, but isn’t it possible that it’s not for everyone?  Isn’t it possible that some sites don’t require cutting edge technology and can still be contemporary and useful?

When I build a site for a customer in the construction industry, it is not meant to appeal to your standard web expert or even to anyone who knows what web 2.0 means.  It is meant to reach your customers and if a simple “This is who we are, this is what we do, contact us by email or webform” does the job, then so be it.

One of the most common criticisms I see on review sites and forums is “Thats not very web 2.0″.  Well guess what?  Maybe it’s ok not to be web 2.0 for everyone, maybe I wasn’t going for cutting edge, flashy website that makes us all say “WOW thats so cool!”.

Design for your customers intended audience, not your own peers or the people you want to impress.

Sierra Masonry Inc.is now up and running.  Although there are some minor tweaks including adding more photos, the site is up and functional.

Feel free to offer some suggestions or criticizm of anything you see.

I currently have several google wave invitations available for anyone who would like one.  If you are unaware of googles new toy then dont waste your time, but if you have been dying for an invite feel free to let me know.  I will send you an invite ASAP and then you will need to wait about 24 hours for Google to forward an invite.

Thanks,
